Soles of shoes made of EVA

Manufacturers of modern shoes are constantly in search of new solutions to make products of high quality, durable and comfortable. We also try to follow the latest innovations (trends) in this industry in terms of using only the best materials for the manufacture of home shoes. One of such solutions was EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate), which is highly effective foam rubber. This composite polymer material belongs to polyolefins and is characterized by lightness, excellent shock-absorbing properties, and a high level of environmental safety.

Characteristics and scope of application

EVA is very popular in the production of children's, orthopedic, and home shoes. The popularity of ethylene-vinyl acetate is due to its characteristics, namely:

  • with ease (for example, EVA is four times lighter than PVC, and cast thermal rubber is as much as six times heavier);
  • high wear resistance (this material is resistant to abrasion and other mechanical influences);
  • resistance to chemicals encountered on the road (gasoline, oil, etc.);
  • elasticity, elasticity;
  • good cushioning;
  • hygiene (resistance to fungi and bacteria);
  • dielectric strength;
  • hypoallergenic.

These characteristics make EVA one of the most popular materials used in the manufacture of orthopedic shoes for adults and children. The sole, created from ethylene vinyl acetate, is characterized by elasticity, flexibility, and lightness. Walking in such shoes is convenient even for long distances since the legs in them practically do not get tired. That's why doctors recommend wearing shoes with this type of sole even for healthy people: it allows you to maintain the health of the musculoskeletal system and prevents the development of all kinds of diseases.

Thus, shoes with EVA soles are a good option for the production of home shoes (slippers), shoes for sports, and outdoor recreation.

PVC shoe soles

PVC (PolyVinyl Chloride) is perhaps the most popular modern material when we talk about the production of shoes. This composite is used for sewing different types of shoes, including for creating summer models.

We use this material in the manufacture of flip-flops (sliders) with natural fur. The material is smooth to the touch, usually translucent, and looks solid. The tread is simple, with geometric simple shapes. PVC soles are very wear-resistant, strong, do not deform, and do not slip. They are very easy to manufacture, it is easy to add various impurities and plasticizers to their composition, so you can achieve virtually any elasticity.

Characteristics and scope of application

The oil-resistant material makes the sole ideal for special shoes. PVC is often used in the production of children's, beach, and other types of shoes. Among the advantages of PVC is also:

  • the high degree of wear resistance;
  • PVC, like rubber, conducts heat perfectly;
  • neutrality with respect to mineral oils, solvents, and other "chemicals";
  • modest price;
  • ease of repair and maintenance;
  • solid and solid appearance.
